Bread salad

Category: Salad
Difficulty/Costs: normal / low
Number of people: 12
Ingredients:
  • 12 thick slices of white bread
  • 10 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 150 g almonds
  • 4 beefsteak tomatoes
  • 2 peppers (red, green)
  • 20 black olives
  • 300 g raw ham
  • 5 tablespoons vinegar
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation:

Cut the white bread into cubes. If you want, remove the crust. Heat up the oil and fry the cubes. Peel the garlic and crush to the bread. Soak the almonds, peel and cut into little sticks. Fry in a non-sticking pan. Wash the peppers, then remove the stem and seeds. Next, cut into cubes. Cut the ham into slices and then into strips. Wash the tomatoes and cut into quarters, then dice. Put it together with the bread and the remaining ingredients into a bowl. Add the olives and mix everything together. Season the vinegar with salt and pepper. If you like add a little more oil. Pour the dressing over the other ingredients and let it rest for a while. If you want, you can replace the almonds with pine nuts. In this way, the crunch effect is somewhat stronger, and the taste is a little different. If you don’t like olive oil, don’t use it. This salad is quickly prepared and taste nice even at the next day.
