Breadsticks

Category: Dinner
Difficulty/Costs: simple/low
Number of people: 10
Ingredients:
  • 600g flour
  • 1 packet dry yeast
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 heaped tsp salt
  • Baking paper for sheet
  • sesame
  • Sunflower seeds
  • pine nuts
  • or cheese for au gratin

Preparation:

Sieve the flour into a bowl and mix with the dry yeast. Add approximately 300ml lukewarm water, oil and salt and knead the dough with the hand mixer or food processor. Stir until a homogeneous mass is obtained, which is no longer sticky. If necessary, add a little water and let sit in a warm place. This may take about 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C and put baking paper on the baking dish. Shape the dough into long bars and sprinkle with sesame seeds, sunflower seeds or pine nuts. If you like, you can also sprinkle cheese on top. Bake for 10 to 20 minutes. The breadsticks can be varied as desired. You can also add diced ham or fried onions add to the dough. You can serve the breadsticks with herb cheese. This you can easily prepare from cottage cheese, some milk, some salt and fresh herbs. Since the breadsticks are not exactly filling, you should produce a greater amount of dough. They go well with other dinner dishes because they hardly take up any time to prepare.
