Grated Pasta

Category: Lunch
Sub-Category: Casseroles
Difficulty/Costs: medium/manageable
Number of people: 12
Ingredients:
  • 500 g of pasta
  • Salt
  • 1,500g leek (Allium)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 4 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 500 g cooked ham
  • 400 g cheese (Gouda, Emmental)
  • 9 eggs
  • 4 cup cream
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation:

Cook the pasta in salt water first. Clean and cut the leek into slices. Make sure you wash it very well so that no sand remains. Just before the noodles are cooked, add the leek. When done, drain the water and put pasta and leek aside. Grease a baking dish and sprinkle with bread crumbs; then put the pasta and leek into it. Cut the cooked ham into cubes and pour over the pasta. Beat the eggs with the cream. Season with salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. Pour the mixture over the noodles and sprinkle with cheese. Put the form on the middle rack in the oven and bake at 225 ° C for about 30 - 40 minutes. This pasta casserole is very filling and tastes great with cucumber salad or green salad. If this casserole is prepared from cold noodles, then the baking time will increase for about 5 to 10 minutes.
