Grilled Trout

Category: Fish
Difficulty/Costs: easy / moderate
Number of people: 12
Ingredients:
  • 12 medium-sized trout
  • 50 ml oil
  • 12 tbsp. parsley or green dill
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 12 tablespoons lemon juice
  • pepper and salt

Preparation:

The following recipe is not just for trout. You can use it for almost any fish. Put oil generously on the fish by using a brush. Make sure that the fillets do not stick together. Since they are going to be grilled, it is recommended, that you use a grilling basket. Since there is only one fish fitting into those baskets, it is easy to brush the oil on the fillets.

Then add the lemon juice, pepper, salt, oil, herbs and garlic, put it all into a bowl and blend thoroughly. Put the fish into this mixture and leave it there for 30 minutes. To make sure the flavour of the blend gets really into the fillets, you can make small cuts on the sides.

Preheat the grill, but make sure it is not too hot. Put the fillets on grill and again brush some of the blend on the fish. Grill for 10 minutes. However, 10 minutes is just an average. Make sure the fish does not burn and does not dry out. Check if the fish is done with a fork in the dorsal fin or behind the gills.

You can serve the fish with garlic mayonnaise, bread or herb butter, according to individual taste.
