Green bean soup

Category: Lunch
Sub-Category: Soups
Difficulty/Costs: simple/low
Number of people: 12
Ingredients:
  • 1.500g beans (green beans)
  • 3 bunches of soup vegetables
  • 9 potatoes
  • 3 stock cubes
  • 3 onions
  • 3 tsp flour
  • 3 tsp fresh savoury (also dried possible)
  • 600g Kassler
  • Pepper
  • 150g streaky bacon

Preparation:

Wash and peel the beans. Cut into 1cm long pieces. Clean, wash and chop the soup greens. Place a large pot of salted water on the stove. Cut the Kassler into bite-size pieces. Remove the bones (if any) and cook with the Kassler. Put the Kassler, soup green and beans all into one pot and cook for about 1 hour. Meanwhile, peel, wash and dice the potatoes. Add approximately 20 minutes before the Kassler is done, and add the cube stock. Peel the onions and dice, then cut the bacon into cubes and fry both until golden. Sprinkle some flour over it and then add to the soup. Then add the fresh savoury and bring it all to the boil.
