Miniature match-stick furniture

Materials:

  • Matches
  • Glue, glue gun
  • Scissors

Instructions:

Cut off the match-stick heads – taking care that all the matchsticks are equal in length thereafter.

For the table, first make the table top- to do this lay as many matchsticks next to each other until you have a square, then put one more matchstick to the left and right and glue together. For the table legs 4x4 matchsticks are glued together, in which one of the match sticks is half the length of the other 3.

Join both pairs of table legs together with a cross bar (the length depends on the width and length of the table), glue together and leave to dry. Now the two table leg pairs are joined together again with a cross bar, glued into place and left to dry. The cross bars should always be glued onto the short matchsticks. Finally the table-top is glued onto the legs.

Bench:

Glue 2 x 2 matchsticks together to make the backrest, then glue onto another two matchsticks for the back legs. For the bench, in the same way glue together 2 x 2 match sticks, stick together in the middle with 2 shorter matchsticks. Glue the backrest to the bench and shorten the front legs as required – sticking them onto the front of the bench.
