Woven hearts

You will need black and gold (or patterned) décor and wrapping paper, a small pair of scissors and ruler or a set square. Different coloured/types of paper can of course be used depending on the occasion e.g. for mother’s day a red shade or something similar. Cut both paper types to a size of 13 x 38cm. Both rectangles are folded in half length ways and the remaining edges are to be equally rounded. Thereafter cut into the folded side at three equal intervals. Then the pieces are placed on top of one another to resemble a heart and the incisions are woven into each other. The size of the heart is down to individual preference and can be changed as desired; to do this the size of the rectangles needs to be altered accordingly. The greater the number of cuts, the stronger and more refined the weave will be. For the first attempt at making a woven heart it is better to use an old piece of newspaper. With a little practice and finesse the hearts practically make themselves.
