Pumpkin seed necklaces

Pumpkin seed necklaces

If you collect pumpkin seeds or melon seeds, wash them and eave them to dry out, you can produce unusual pieces of jewellery. The seeds are coloured with felt tip pens and pulled onto a rubber band – you already have a colourful chain, a bright bracelet or an ankle chain for the summer!

Material:

You need the following materials:

  • Pumpkin seeds or melon seeds
  • Waterproof felt tip pens in your favourite colours
  • A needle
  • Rubber strip

A new chain made from pumpkin seeds in a jiffy:

  1. Let the washed seeds dry out over night before carefully making a hole in them with a needle.

  2. Colour one side of the seeds with felt tip pen – let them dry and them colour in the other side.

  3. Thread lots of different coloured seeds onto the rubber band and push the seeds apart a little to hide the knots.

  4. Knot the ends of the rubber band together and push the seeds apart a little to hide the knots.
