Juggling balls

In this workshop, juggling balls are made from balloons and sand. Each child taking part in this workshop should produce 3 juggling balls.

Steps:

  • Look for dry sand (or dry loose mud) in the woods, fill it into a bucket and then sift out any large pieces
Material: dry sand (or loose mud), bucket, sieve
  • Cut a plastic bottle approx. 8cm below the neck, so that a filter is made and fill with sand--> Material: plastic bottle, Stanley knife
  • Pull the balloon over the neck of the bottle and fill it with sand. Hold the balloon in place so that it does not slip off the bottle.
    Material: Balloon
  • Once the first balloon is filled, remove it from the bottle. Remove the top rim of two more balloons and pull them over the first balloon so that no sand can fall out.
    Material: 2 balloons, scissors

All steps should be followed two more times until 3 juggling balls are made and then the juggling can start.

Required Material: Dry sand (or loose mud), bucket, sieve, plastic bottle, Stanley knife, balloons (3 per juggling ball), scissors
