Frisbee Olympics

Program proposal for Frisbee games on the beach or the lawn The beach or a large lawn (football field) are ideal places to play games with a Frisbee. I find this is an excellent program for the months July/August, or even as a filler for some kids- and youth leisure time. With these games you can entertain kids easily for 2 hours. In addition to the already existing Frisbee games we played the following games recently.

Frisbee games can be carried out as a competitive Olympics, as a team match, or even in a loose interaction. Even if it initially does not work so well with the throwing technique, all will have fun none the less. Frisbee can be played by young and old. Frisbees come in different sizes including water Frisbees, which you can play in shallow water as well as in an in- or outdoor pool.

Frisbee relay

Each team gets a Frisbee. In a distance of about 100 meters, close to a tree, post or any other marker is the finishing line. Now the first runner must throw the Frisbee in this direction. Then he runs to where the Frisbee landed, picks it up and throws again. The aim is to reach the finishing line as quick as possible. Then pick up the Frisbee again and throw it in the direction of the next player at the starting point. This game can easily get a bit chaotic because Frisbees will be whizzing back and forth.

Throwing at a target

The Frisbee must fly between

  • 2 posts in a 10-20 meters distance.

  • Fly through a hoop from a distance of 5-7 meters

  • Fly over a high obstacle (wall, hedge, tight rope) from about 5-10 feet away and must hit the ground on the other side.

Frisbee circle

All participants will stand in a big circle, 5-7 meters away from each other. Each player’s area is marked. Now a Frisbee will be thrown from one person to the other. The person catching the Frisbee is not allowed to leave their marked spot. Depending how accurately the Frisbee is thrown, the faster it will pass through the circle.
