Crocheted Dog

Crocheted Dog

Materials:

  • Wool, crochet needles
  • Knitting needle, stuffing material

Instructions:

Cast on approximately 3 stitches to make a foundation chain forming into a ring, then complete the first row with single crochets (approx. 12 stitches – depending on the wool thickness). Work the second row of the ring in double stitches (in every stitch crochet 2 single stitches). Continue to work in a circle and cast on stitches until you have a small cover approx. 5-6 cm in diameter.

The next rows are worked without casting on until you have a tube approximately 14cm in length. Stuff the body with filling material and create a head approximately 6cm down in the tube by tying a knitted tube or something similar around it. Crochet the opening or sew it shut, and for the tail cast on 8 foundation stitches in the middle.

Create the ears and legs by simply crocheting rows to the head and body. Stitch the nose, eyes and snout using black wool. Sew the loose ends up and mould the head as desired.

Have fun giving it a go!
