Pearl Animal

 Pearl Animal

For these small lucky charms, key rings or table decorations you need wire, various pearls/beads with a diameter of 2-2.5mm and in desired colours, brass wire – 0.3mm thickness and a pair of scissors to cut the wire. In addition you will need tweezers for the fine handy work and to twist the wire at the end. A pearl animal consists of individual rows of beads, which are threaded on one after the other. Pearl animals made in a 3D format consist of two rows of alternating pearls on top of one another. This alternation creates a ‘zigzag’ pattern along the edge making the animal 3-Dimensional. The rows have to be firmly tightened and then bent apart. Threading is done in the following way: push the first row into the middle of the wire and then push one end of this wire in the opposite direction through the beads. Then you thread the next row onto a wire-end and push the other wire again in the opposite direction through this row; repeat. For details e.g. wings, arms, tails or legs, pull extra wires into the already completed rows. To make bigger animals use larger beads e.g. 2.6mm or more in diameter and thicker wire!
