Woven Stars

To weave these stars we need the following materials: All purpose adhesive (not super glue), glossy film in different colours, a ruler, a pencil, a pair of scissors. With a little practice the stars almost weave themselves. This is how it is done: Firstly, per star cut four strips of paper – 3cm width and 70 cm length, fold in half and cut the corners. Then you fold, stick together and pull tight. The top most strip of paper is now folded in succession from bottom to top, and the entire thing is done from left to right and from top to bottom. It is important only to pull individual strips through the folded square. Once the star is made fold the rest of the strip back towards the centre and the points of the star. The ends that are left are simply glued into the shape of the star using all purpose adhesive. The size of the stars can be changed simply by altering the size of the strips; likewise the colour can also be changed.
