Summary: An evening based around Thanksgiving with nice games and creative tasks.

Description:

This autumnal games evening is set up as a rally and can be carried out as an evening/afternoon centred on Thanksgiving. There are two groups who during the course of the afternoon have to collect various fruits etc. to display in a basket at the end. As games the following ideas come to mind:

  1. Ornamental Pumpkins

Pumpkins have to be held under the neck and are passed from person to person. This game is normally played with oranges.

  2. Nuts

In a specified time, various nuts have to be distinguished using touch. The nuts guessed correctly are taken by the group. (Hazelnuts, peanuts, walnuts, Brazil nuts, almonds with skin)

  3. Apple harvest

Using the mouth, pull apples out of a bowl of water

  4. Leaves in autumn

Leaves have to be blown using a hair dryer. All leaves that reach the goal are given to the group to be later used in putting together the Thanksgiving baskets.

  5. Wine Harvest

The groups act as designers and create a label for a wine bottle. After finishing they get to keep the empty bottle.

  6. Grape juice

Using grape juice tetra packs that are attached to the trousers try and move a ball. If the ball reaches the goal, the group receives a grape.

  7. Bad-weather relay

A clothes relay with umbrella, hat, cape, and rubber Wellingtons, or rain trousers is carried out. (The group receives a basket, knife and other ingredients like kebab skewers etc.)

The children can receive bonus points (conkers, acorns etc.) for accomplishing the games particularly well or for creativity. To finish the evening make beautiful thanksgiving baskets.
