Club excursions: on the way in a dinghy (inflatable boat)

You can plan a trip on several dinghies. If you don’t own them yourself, you can maybe borrow them from the local fire brigade or the technical relief organisation. An excellent way to explore local rivers.

What to think of and what to plan for

Chose your track, specify the appropriate beginning and end. Pay attention to private land - chances are, you are not allowed to travel through. Be aware of any weirs and how to get around them.
It’s recommendable to choose a track which can be easily finished in 3-4hours, which gives you time for resting, grilling or swimming. You could also bring your fishing gear along and catch your own lunch.
Are there any legal restrictions? You are not allowed to travel on every river or to every season.
How will you transport the boats to the river? Do you have trailers, enough paddles and lifejackets if necessary? And don’t forget to organize a repair kit.

Schedule sufficient time to inflate even a bigger dinghy.
Participants should be able to swim, take lifejackets (kids should never step on a boat without lifejackets), wear a sunhat and sunscreen and have spare cloths with you, to at least make it home dry.
