With table tennis balls you can’t just play table tennis, there many other games you could play. The ideas in the game collecting should be enough to fill an entire evening with games all around the table tennis ball. Here I will give you some advice for the seasons in which any of those games is suitable.

For this game night you will need the following materials:

  • 10-20 tennis balls
  • Air Balloons
  • bucket
  • 2 egg cups
  • Rubber + Staple + bottle
  • Clingfilm
  • Ring, mug/cup

Quickly I want to introduce those games

Air balloon

Using an air balloon the table tennis ball is blown from A-B. First, you need to blow up the air balloon and then make sure the air carefully leaves the balloon so that the distance of the track the table tennis ball is supposed to cover can be done as quickly as possible. Nobody is allowed to touch the table tennis ball. Time is taken from the moment of blowing up the balloon till the table tennis ball reaches the finishing line.

Hairdryer

Using a hairdryer, the table tennis ball has to be guided along a certain track. You also could put hurdles in place. The length of the path will depend on the length of the extension cord.

Bottleneck

The table tennis ball is placed on a bottle neck. Using a rubber band and a paper clip the kids have to shoot at the table tennis ball. How many points can every team collect within 2-3 minutes?

Cling film

Each team (4-5 people) sit right behind each other, holding overhead a rolled out cling film. Now the game leader places a tennis ball on the cling film above the first kid. The objective now is to move the table tennis ball along the cling film to the last child where the ball is supposed to drop into a bucket. Each ball in the bucket equals 1 point. How many points can each team collect within 2-3 minutes?

Trouser leg

The table tennis ball has to find its way through the entire group of children. And that is done that way: the ball goes down the left trouser leg and up the right. Now repeat that until the entire team had a go. Which team finishes first?

Alternative: the ball goes into the right sleeve and out through the left trouser leg. Proceed as above.

Bouncing

The objective is to bounce the table tennis ball twice and after that the ball has to bounce into a bowl or bucket or has to come to rest in a ring on the floor.

Square

A table tennis ball is thrown on the ground in a way that it bounces back into a container placed on a chair.

Egg cups

Always 2 kids make a team. Each team gets two egg cups. The objective is to blow the table tennis ball from one egg cup into the other. How many times can you do that in 2-3 minutes?
