Table tennis ball games

Here are 15 more games using a table tennis ball. In total, there should now be over 50 games that revolve around the table tennis ball. Table tennis balls do not cost that much. Especially for these games, no high-quality table tennis balls are required not even for table tennis tournaments. Still, table tennis balls that cost around 10-15 cents each are sufficient.

Another 15 games with the table tennis balls.

  1. Table tennis ball fight

If you have 200-300 TT balls, you can start a TT battle right away. Each team tries to throw as many as possible table tennis balls into the opposing field while keeping their own area free of table tennis balls.

Variation: We always played the game with beer mats; of course, it also works with table tennis balls, toilet paper, or newspaper.

  2. Table tennis ball maze

    Table tennis ball maze

3-4 tables are set up in a long row. A table border made of long wooden slats prevents a table tennis ball from falling off the table. Bars of different lengths are alternately laid out to create a zigzag labyrinth.

Now one or more table tennis balls must be blown through the labyrinth from the beginning to the end of the table. Either one person or the whole group sits across from each other around the table and then blows the table tennis ball back and forth through the labyrinth.

  3. A 3-way plate of ping-pong

3 flat plates are placed one behind the other. The edge of the table is behind the last dish, and there is a tub underneath. The candidate now throws a table tennis ball so precisely that the table tennis ball bounces once on each plate and then falls into the tub (basket).

  4. The sloping U

    The sloping U

Preparation: For this game, a table is set at a slight angle (the narrow side has a slope). A U (made of wood) is attached to the right with double-sided adhesive tape and a U on top of each other 2-3 times on the left side of the table.

Implementation: A table tennis ball is placed in the right U (starting point). The candidate now tries to push the table tennis ball to the left side in one of the 2-3 U's and permanently blows it. Since the table is slightly inclined, you must blow constantly so that the table tennis ball does not fall on the floor. The group must get a table tennis ball in each U.

Variation: it is much easier with a cotton ball. To do this, the table can also be set a little more inclined.

  5. Carnival streams and table tennis ball

A table tennis ball is poked with a carnival stream or party air trunk to shoot down a paper cup on the edge of the table or hit a target.

  1. Catch table tennis ball with a stack of cups

The catcher receives a stack of large cups (500ml) with 5-7 cups. A teammate throws a table tennis ball to which it bounces up to be caught by the catcher with the stack of paper cups. If this succeeds, this cup with the table tennis ball inside comes all the way down into the stack. This makes the pile a little higher and wobblier. Round after round, the pile becomes shakier. The winner is the team that caught a table tennis ball in each cup. So, with 6 cups, there must be 1 table tennis ball in each cup.

  2. Table tennis ball in the mug

A table tennis ball is thrown so that it bounces once on the ground and then lands in a cup.

Variation: there are several cups available. A table tennis ball must land in each cup.

  3. Table tennis balls from plate to plate

Approx. 10 table tennis balls are placed on a plate. An empty plate is placed next to the plate. Now the candidate tries to blow all table tennis balls into the empty plate without a table tennis ball falling on the table or the floor.

Variation: Among the 10 balls, there are 2 different colored TT balls. These must be blown into the other plate.

Variation: you could also put a third dish behind it.

  4. TT balls in water glasses

9-12 glasses filled with water are placed on the floor. From about 2 meters, the players try to throw table tennis balls in such a way that they come to rest on top of the water glasses. Each team has a different color of TT balls. Which team has the most balls out of the available glasses after 1 minute?

  5. Blow table tennis ball from water cup to water cup

10 (20) plastic cups filled to the brim with water are placed side by side in a row. Now a table tennis ball is blown from cup to cup. After the last cup, the table tennis ball falls into an empty cup.

Variation: It becomes a little more complicated if the cups are a little apart (1-2cm).

  6. Blow TT balls off a tray

You can play the game with playing cards, or now with table tennis balls. About 15 table tennis balls plus 3 different colored table tennis balls are placed on a tray or stool. The candidate must now blow all table tennis balls from the tray, except for the 3 different colored table tennis balls. These need to be left on the tray (or stool).

  1. Table tennis ball in the glass

10-20 glasses are placed next to each other. Now, the task is to throw table tennis balls from approx. 2 meters, which then jump into as many glasses as possible. How many glasses can be filled with a table tennis ball within 1 minute?

Variation: a board (frying pan, lid, etc.) is set up at an angle, on which the table tennis ball should first land and then be deflected sideways to jump into one of the glasses.

  2. Shoot table tennis balls out of a circle

There is a hula-hop hoop on the floor. About 20 table tennis balls are placed there. The table tennis balls must all be shot out of the circle from approx. 2 meters. Instead of a tire, a rope laid out in a circle would work. The winner is the team that has the fewest TT balls left in a circle after 2 minutes.

  3. Table tennis balls in an eggshell box

An eggshell box is placed in the middle of the room. The group now tries to throw TT balls into the eggshell box from 2 meters around the eggshell box. After one minute, the number of table tennis balls that landed in the eggshell box is counted.

Variation: with 2 teams, each team tries to place as many TT balls of their own color in the box as possible.

  4. Towel as a catapult

Usually, this game is played outside with large bath towels or blankets. But it also works very well in the living room or youth room. A towel is fixed on one side of the floor, for example, by placing heavy books or a couple of weight plates on the lower end of the towel. A table tennis ball is placed on the towel, which is now catapulted into a box (cardboard box). 150-200 cm away by pulling the towel upwards.

Alternative: of course, 2 people can hold the towel and catapult the table tennis ball towards the box.
