Puff games, because I am not out of breath – yet!

Everyone knows the game Blowing Cotton wool, which is often played at children's birthday parties, or around the ping-pong table in the youth group. However, I still could think of many other games to the subject of “blowing.”

By the way, I heard somewhere that the puffing would be important for the oral motor skills. Inhalation, exhalation we do that automatically anyway. All those various puffing games will challenge the lungs quite a bit. So what do we learn from this? Properly “puffing” can be quite useful. Using your oral motor skills and blow off steam now and then, strengthens the lungs. Mh! Regarding educational and fine oral motor development skills as well of the lung capacity, this is quite interesting. And by the way - we play actually to have fun.

The following games are the puffing games I could think of

Materials:

For the games mentioned below, these materials are needed. They should always be well stocked and part of your toy box: Cottonwool, tennis balls, 2 or more egg cups, several candles, matches, straws, eggs, down feathers, corks, etc., 2 cups.

Cottonwool blowing:

Of course, as mentioned before the famous, well-known and popular cotton wool blowing. A cotton ball is placed on the table. All children sit around the table and blow, trying to get the cotton ball on the opposite side of the table. The other side tries just the same.

TT-Ball Blowing or Abdominal Puff-Ball

Instead of a cotton ball, you can also use a table tennis ball. This makes the game incredibly fast.

However, you can use the table tennis ball also be used for an Abdominal Puff-Ball Contest. With chalk draw a playfield on the ground. Two tables form the goal. Two contestants try to blow the table tennis ball in the opposite goal while crawling around on the floor. If possible, the ball is not to be stopped using the body.

Cork blowing

A cork is blown as far as possible out of the mouth. Which cork goes the furthest? Instead of the cork, you can also use marshmallows. Cherry pits are also a possibility (but that would rather be Cherry pit spitting).

Eggcup TT-Ball

A table tennis ball must be blown from an egg cup into the other egg cup. Either two children form one team try to blow the ball as often as possible within 1 minute, or there are ten eggcups juxtaposed, and the table tennis ball must be blown from egg cup to egg cup. How many cups can you make in one minute?

Matchbox blowing

A matchbox is blown over a distance of 5 meters. How quickly can this be accomplished? Alternatively: the matchbox is blown as far as possible from the start line. Another alternative offers to blow the matchbox through an obstacle course.

Egg blowing

Instead of a matchbox, an egg is blown over an obstacle course. The fact that the egg wobbles through the obstacle course makes this game particular difficult. The egg can be a real egg, plastic egg, or any other egg.

Cotton wool-straw-obstacle course

Another game with an obstacle course. This time, you try to blow a cotton wool ball with a straw through an obstacle course. Depending on the difficulty of the course, the candidate needs to blow quite carefully.

Blowing out candles

The objective is to blow out one or more candles at a distance of 100, 120, 150, 200cm. Everyone gets only 30 secs. How many candles can you blow out? Depending on the distance, there are corresponding points.

Alternatively: 10 candles are placed one behind the other in a row. How many candles can you blow out at once vigorous blow from a 100 cm distance?

Blowing cotton wool from bowl to bowl

A cotton wool ball is placed in a 3cm deep bowl. The objective is to blow the cotton wool ball in the next bowl and then back again without the cotton wool ball touching the table. How many times can you do this in one minute? This game is similar to the egg blowing game. Alternative: the cotton wool is placed in the right hand. The objective is to blow the cotton wool on the other hand without the cotton wool falling on the floor.

Cotton wool blowing

The cotton wool is placed in the palm, and you have to blow it as far as possible away from here. Who can blow the furthest?

Feather blowing

The objective is to keep a down feather up in the air by blowing at it. Time how long it stays up in the air before it falls to the floor.

Blowing out the opponent’s candle

Blindfolded and each with a burning candle in his right hand. Now try to blow out your opponent’s candle. It is a pretty funny game. To provide some help, the kids can give the blindfolded guys some instructions.
