Stuffed peppers Hungarian style

Ingredients:
  • 1200 g of ground beef
  • 12 large peppers
  • 600 g rice
  • 15 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons chilli powder
  • 1500 g tomatoes
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 onions
  • 3 tablespoons thyme
  • 3 tablespoons parsley
  • Approximately 1.2 liters of water
  • Pepper salt

Preparation:

In a pan heat 6 tablespoons of oil, dice 3 onions finely, crush the garlic and fry until glassy. Add the rice with all the other ingredients cook until tender. Add water if you need to. Season with pepper and salt and cook at low temperature for about 20 minutes, let it cool afterwards.

In another pan heat another 6 tablespoons of oil and fry the mince. When done sprinkle it with paprika and set aside. Beat the eggs and mix with the in the meantime ready cooked rice. Fill the prepared peppers with this mass.

Put the stuffed peppers into a greased frying pan. Quickly rinse the pan from the fried meat and heat another 3 tablespoons of oil and fry 3 finely chopped onions.

Peel the tomatoes and put it with all the other herbs to the onions. Season with salt and pepper and cook over low heat about 15 minutes. If needed season again. Now put everything through a strainer and add the chillies to the resulting liquid.

Bake at 180 ° C for about 20 minutes. This dish goes excellently with noodles and a homemade chilli sauce.
