Marinated herring

Ingredients:
  • 12 double Matjesfilet (fresh or in oil)
  • 6 small white onions
  • 6 Red small onions
  • 12 gherkins (fresh or in a jar)
  • 6 cup sour cream
  • 3 cup sour milk
  • 3 cup sour cream
  • Juniper
  • Pepper
  • Bay leaves
  • Cloves
  • 6 tart apples

Preparation:

Mix the sour cream, thickened milk and cream well. Peel the onions and cut into cubes. Peel the apples, remove the core and dice as well. Make sure the apple pieces are bigger than the onions.
