Category: Lunch
Sub-Category: Side dishes
Difficulty/Costs: light / low
Number of people: 12
Ingredients:
  • 6 tablespoons oil
  • 1.5 kg waxy potatoes
  • Approximately ½ l milk
  • 120 g onions
  • 6 small garlic cloves
  • 6 tablespoons dark sesame oil
  • 3 tsp curry powder sharply
  • 12 TL mild curry powder
  • peeled 150 g Sesame seed
  • Salt, sugar brown

Preparation:

First, peel the garlic and onions and put aside.

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C and roast the sesame seeds on the second lowest level for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Then take the seeds from the oven and place in a bowl and allow to cool.

Heat the oil in a pan and grate the garlic cloves and onion into it. Then add the sesame oil and curry powder, stir and sauté briefly.

Remove the pan from heat and add the sugar while constantly stirring it.

In the meantime, heat the milk in a pot.

Peel the potatoes and cook in ½ l salted water. Then drain the water, and mash the potatoes to a puree.

Next blend the onion-curry mixture and the hot milk to the potatoes. Then add the roasted sesame. However, keep 2 tablespoons for the garnish.

Place the mashed potatoes on a large serving platter and sprinkle it with the remaining roasted sesame.

This dish goes particularly great with chicken breasts.
