Serbian bean soup

Category: Lunch
Sub-Category: Soups
Difficulty/Costs: normal/affordable
Number of people: 12
Ingredients:
  • 300g beef jerky
  • 6 onions
  • 3 bunches of soup vegetables
  • 3 small doses (drain) white beans
  • The 3-tsp marjoram & oregano
  • 3 packages frozen parsley
  • 750g minced
  • 1 large can of tomato paste
  • The 3-tsp celery salt and onion powder
  • 3 small cans tomato peel
  • 3 L clear broth

Preparation:

Cut the dried meat cut into small pieces. Peel the onions and dice. Fry the dried meat and onions in little olive oil. Wait until the onions are translucent. Add the mince and fry until it is well done. Gradually add the remaining ingredients. The order of ingredients does not matter. Fill with the broth and season with the spices. This is yet another soup which tastes best if prepared the day before. Warm it up just before you serve it at the next day. This soup goes very well with ciabatta bread or a baguette. The food is suitable for cold days as well as for warmer days. If you prepare this soup without meat, it makes for an excellent vegetarian dish. But none the less, use meat broth.
